Character Design, Phillips Academy Andover, Art 505, 10th-12th Grade.

Students embark on original character design starting with Lynda Barry's Character Jam, a creative game where timed prompts are passed around with the goal to create less stereo-typical, and more unique characters. Next, students try on different styles of cartooning, all applied to self-portraits in one model sheet. The final product is a drafted and Copic marker colored model sheet featuring various poses, actions, and expressions and storyline to go along with it.
