Independent Investigative Project, Phillips Academy Andover, Art 505, 10th-12th Grade.

In Advanced Drawing & Painting, students spend the second half of the term taking time and space to deep dive into material, concepts, and processes. Students take on professional artist practices of research, studio techniques, creating a cohesive body of work, and publication with a printed zine. With the support of their studio mates, artists presentations, and critique, students strengthen personal voice, practice, and artist statement writing in this advanced course. The zines get exhibited at the Addison Museum's Learning Center the following term.
